The Global Confederation of Higher Education Associations for Agricultural and Life Sciences (GCHERA) has announced that the 2021 Laureates of the World Agriculture Prize, are Prof. Mitiku Haile of Mekelle University, Tigray, and Em. Prof. Marc Van Montagu of Ghent University, Belgium, in recognition of their outstanding achievements in agriculture and life science education and scientific research.
Prof. Mitiku Haile is a Ghent University alumnus and is nominated by Pof. Jan Nyssen and his team from Ghent University. Prof. Mitiku's award once again displays the resilience of the Tigray people.
