US envoy to UN calls for immediate withdrawal of Eritrean troops from Tigray

United States envoy to United Nations Ambassador Linda Thomas Greenfield calls for immediate withdrawal of Eritrean troops & Amhara militia from Tigray. She emphasized that their withdrawal is an essential step to brining peace in Tigray.
Ambassador Linda Thomas- Greenfield reiterated prior calls by the US:
1. Eritrean and Amhara forces must leave Tigray
2. Immediate cessation of hostilities and long term solution
3. The US is disturbed by the atrocities.
Ambassador Linda Thomas Greenfield also stated finding solution to the current problem is the sole responsibility of the Ethiopian government.
UN Sec. General António Guterres also demanded Eritrean forces to leave Tigray. He “fully supports” the statement made by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet, his spokesperson said. Earlier Michelle Bachelet called for access to Tigray to probe possible war crime.
